Urganch branch, the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-91 of June 2, 2005 "On improving the system of personnel training in the field of information technologies", the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 130 of June 14, 2005 "Approval of the Model Regulation on Branches of Higher Education Institutions" was established as a regional branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies in the city of Urganch on July 23, 2005 in order to implement the order of the Communication and Informatization Agency of Uzbekistan dated July 21, 2005 No. 07-8/2015. Two faculties "Computer engineering" and "Telecommunication technologies" are operating within the branch. These faculties include "Information technologies", "Information security" , "Digital educational technologies", "Natural sciences", "Humanities and social sciences", "Software engineering", "Telecommunications engineering" departments, which have more than 75 professors and teachers . have been providing education to students.

The branch has a center for digital educational technologies, an information resource center, a language learning center, and a center for young programmers. Branch students have been actively participating in national and international competitions and contests.

Today, a total of 2,235 students ( 1,229 in full-time education , 942 in part-time education , and 61 in master's degree ) are studying at the branch.

The Urganch branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies prepares bachelors in the following fields:

·                 Computer engineering ("Computer engineering", "IT service");

·                 Software engineering;

·                 Information security;

·                 Telecommunication technologies ("Telecommunication");

·                 Vocational education in the field of information and communications.

·                 Postal communication technology ;

·                 Library and information activities (by types of activities) .

·                 Telecommunication engineering (broadcasting).
