FACULTY OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING

 

Urgench branch of  Tashkent University of Information Technologies was founded in 2005 and was called the Faculty of Information Technology. In 2005, M. Sharipov was appointed as the dean of the faculty of Information technologies. From 2006 to 2007, E. Koschanov was dean of the faculty of Information technologies.

First-year students were enrolled in the specialty "Computer Science and IT."

The departments "Informatics and Information Technologies", "Natural and General Sciences", "Humanitarian and Socio-Economic Disciplines" functioned in this faculty. The department "Computer Science and Mathematics" was separated from the department "Natural and Professional Sciences". In 2007-2008, Sh. Sadullaeva was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies. In 2008-2010 the dean of the faculty was K. Yakubov. From 2010 to 2015, Y. Saidov was appointed as the dean of the faculty. In 2010, D. Kuryazov was the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, and M. Rajapova was the dispatcher and secretary. In 2011-2013, S. Jafarov served as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, and M. Matnazarov - Deputy Dean for Spiritual Affairs. In 2013, the Faculty of Information Technologies was renamed into Computer Engineering. In 2013, the Department of Telecommunication Engineering was separated from the Department of Natural and General Professional Disciplines. The department "Informatics and Mathematics" was renamed to "Information Educational Technologies." In 2013, the direction “Computer Science and Information Technology” was changed to “Computer Engineering” and “Vocational Training” to “Training in ICT” and “Telecommunication Technologies” was opened. In 2013-2015, the deputy dean for academic affairs was H. Otamuratov, and in 2013-2016, K. Bobojonov was the deputy dean for academic affairs. In 2014, students in the field of “Software Engineering” were enrolled in the faculty. In 2015, the Department of Software Engineering was established at the Faculty of Computer Engineering. O. Allamov served as the  dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering from 2015 to 2016, and O. Khalmuratov held the post of Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs. In 2016, a department on Information security was opened at the faculty. In 2016–2017, the dean of the faculty was U. Aminov, and in 2016–2018, H. Adinaev became deputy dean for academic affairs, and in 2016–2018, E. Avezov became deputy dean for spiritual affairs. In 2017, O. Allaberganov was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering.

In 2018,  Urgench branch of TUIT im. Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was divided into two faculties: “Computer Engineering” and “Telecommunication Technologies and Professional Education”.

At the faculty 5330500 - Computer Engineering ("Computer Engineering", "IT Service"), 5330300 - Bachelor in Information Security ("by profession") and 5A33501 - Computer Engineering ("Designing Computer Systems")
