Students of 951-19 groups of the Faculty of Computer Engineering of the Urgench branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi together with the group tutor Hurmatbek Otamuratov visited the shrine of Sultan Uvays Bobo on May 8. The architectural monument of Beruni (Karakalpakstan) district dates back to the 17th-19th centuries. Sultan Uwais (real name Suhayl ibn 'Amir ibn Ruman ibn Nohiya ibn Murad) was born in the Muradi tribe (625 BC) in the village of Qaran in Yemen. He was martyred at the age of 32 in the battle of Siffin (657) between the forces of Hazrat Ali and Muawiya. He was buried in the Syrian village of Sofa. Sultan Uvays collected hadiths (first half of the 7th century). Fans of his followers built a symbolic tomb (Shohabbos in present-day Beruni) and a shrine in the 17th century.
