Information about Admission to Distance Education

 

     At the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, distance education has been offered since the 2018-2019 academic year, in accordance with the quotas approved by the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This includes both standard distance education and the distance format for obtaining a second or subsequent higher education.

     Furthermore, starting from the 2019-2020 academic year, in accordance with the "Procedure for admitting citizens with at least five years of work experience in the economy sectors to the distance and evening education forms of higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on interview results on a differentiated contract basis," approved by the State Commission on Admission to Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 4, 2019 (Protocol No. 12), citizens with a recommendation letter have been admitted to study based on an interview.

          For the current 2024-2025 academic year, students have been admitted to the following fields of study in the distance education format:

 

  • 60410100 – Economics;
  • 60610600 – Telecommunications Technology;
  • 60610400 – Software Engineering.

          Currently, students in the distance education format are studying in the following fields:

 

  • 60610500 – Computer Engineering ("Computer Engineering," "IT Service," "Information Security," "Multimedia Technologies");
  • 60610600 – Software Engineering;
  • 60611000 – Telecommunications Technology ("Telecommunications," "Broadcasting," "Mobile Systems");
  • 60611400 – Postal Communication Technology;
  • 60320400 – Library and Information Activities (by types of activities).

          Admission to Distance (Special Distance) Education:

 

     Admission of students to the university’s distance education program is carried out in accordance with the regulation on the admission of students to the bachelor's degree programs of higher educational institutions, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 393 dated June 20, 2017.

     Applicants who have a relevant document of general secondary education (grades 10-11), secondary specialized, or vocational education, and who have successfully passed entrance exams (tests), are admitted to the distance format.

     Applicants with a recommendation letter are admitted to the distance format based on the relevant decision of the State Commission on Admission to Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The list of organizations authorized to issue recommendation letters is approved by the Commission. Applicants with at least five years of work experience in the economy sectors and possessing a recommendation letter from the relevant ministry, agency, or large economic association are admitted to the program on a differentiated (double the base tuition fee) contract basis following the results of an interview. (The interview committee is organized by the university).

     Applicants with higher education (if they graduated from a foreign higher educational institution, their higher education document must be recognized through the established nostrification process) who have successfully passed entrance exams (tests) or a professional interview are admitted to the distance format for second and subsequent higher education. (Entrance exams are organized by the university in agreement with the relevant ministries).

          Duration of Distance (Special Distance) Education:

 

  • Distance education format: 5 years;
  • Interview-based distance format: 5 years;
  • Distance format for second and subsequent higher education: at least 4 years. In this case, regardless of the differences in subjects in the academic curriculum, education begins from the 2nd year of the bachelor's degree program.
