The "Software Engineering" department was established in 2015 at the Faculty of Computer Engineering. In 2015-2019, the department was headed by Associate Professor F. Yusupov, PhD D. Kuryazov in 2019-2021, and S. Masharipov in 2021-2023. Since 2023, the department has been headed by Ph.D. O. Allamov, Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences. Currently, 18 professors and teachers are working in the "Software Engineering" department.

           Achievements of the department:

1.      Our branch annually prepares students for the ICPC International Programming Olympiad with the teachers of the department and shows good results. On December 6-7, 2022, 2 teams of the branch took part in the Euro-Asia final of the ICPC 2022 international programming Olympiad, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, under the leadership of Yusupova Janar, senior teacher of the department.
2.      In 2022, the senior teacher of the department, B. Khojamuratov, will create a modern virtual museum "Darul hikmat val marif" under the number "PZ-2020103078" and study the "Haft Shuaro" complex under the number "IL-402I04I55" of the 19th century Khorezm. Participated in practical projects on researching the national spiritual heritage of the oasis and creating an electronic application (in Uzbek, Russian, English languages).
3.      In 2022, the senior teacher of the department B. Khojamuratov participated in the practical project "Smart city sensor infrastructure monitoring system" No. AL-42101210.
4.      The Institute of the History of Central Asian Peoples named after Maxpirat of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded the "Honorary Academician" badge of the Turan Academy of Sciences.
5.      Khojamuratov Bekmurod, a senior teacher of the Department of Software Engineering, was awarded the badge of the leader of innovative ideas within InnoWeek 2023.
6.      On October 27, 2023, the senior lecturer of the Department of Software Engineering, YUSUPOVA ZHANAR KAMALOVNA, held together with the Women and Girls and Gender Equality Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Family and Women's Committee " She became the winner of the city stage of the competition "100 female inventors of the region" in the nomination "Author of the program and database for the best EHM".
7.      In 2022, Bazarbayev Murotjon, a teacher of the department of software engineering, won the international intellectual competition "All roads lead to MADI" of the Moscow State Technical University of Automobile and Road Construction (MADI) and became a doctorate student of MADI University.
8.      Head of the department O. Allamov signed a cooperation agreement for the exchange of students and staff with the University of Oldenburg, Germany, within the Erasmus+ program KA171 project.
